This is a very technical book and one which I believe is aimed at intermediary level of skills when using AngularJS There is no introduction in to Angular JS and jumps straight into AngularJS Directives If you are new to AngularJS then put this on your must read list as it will be reuired once you have an understanding of the basics of AngularJSThe book covers all aspects of AngularJS Directives and the author walks through examples that really make it easy to understand with real world scenarios So far I have only read the first four chapters and the book goes into great detail on how to use directives for a particular scenarioThe book starts with a high level introduction to directives what they are and how they are created and covers things like Scope Controllers and ControllerAs Reuire Restrict to name a few Each section describes how to set up the directive and an example is included to help with the explanationThe second chapter covers building a Stopwatch directive this chapter also introduces the reader to testing and to write in a BDD style format Building the tests first and then writing just enough code so the test passesThe third chapter covers External Javascript JS libraries and demonstrates how and when to use the digest and apply So that changes in the external JS files will be reflected in Angular JS when an event has happened in one of the external JS filesOnce I complete the book I will update this review covering the remaining chapters But as an early review I would certainly recommend this book as it provides great insight into the world of AngularJS Directives Directives can be tricky to fully understand at first but once you have a good understanding of the basics then you realise just how powerful Directives can be
